Mrs. Mrazek - Music Teacher
|
I have been teaching music for three years and this is my first year here at Landmark. I will be teaching between Landmark Elementary and Riverwood Elementary this year (where I was last year as well). Previously, I also taught 5th and 6th grade music in Johnsburg, Illinois.
I was born in Sycamore, IL but lived most of my childhood
in the country about 5 miles west of Shabbona, IL. Growing up, I loved being outside and also spent much of my time studying music and playing sports. I
attended college at Western Illinois University, from which I graduated in 2009.
My husband, Tim, and I live in Woodstock and we have two
cats named Ivan and Alex. In our free time we like to be outdoors, play volleyball and softball, and we are also both members of the Dekalb Festival Chorus (a
community vocal ensemble which meets at NIU). As a music teacher, I feel that I can make a difference in children's lives and help them learn to appreciate
and enjoy the music found in life around them.

Mrs. Newkirk - Art Teacher

Hello! I have been teaching in this district for 15 years, and, I started at
Landmark as my home school. At that same time, I also taught at Edgebrook and Riverwood schools in those beginning years. I am very glad my schedule has
brought me back to Landmark, as, I have fond memories, and, I will know I will have more wonderful teaching memories at Landmark again.. I also teach currently
at Duker as their 4th and 5th grade art teacher. What an endeavor to see 800 kids a week!
I love teaching Art to children to help them enhance what they
know and they can learn, create and know more, and, use it for other endeavors. I care to give the one-on-one teaching experience to help the children
with their skill development and to have the students be more confident in their learning experiences.

a website designer, Kung Fu instructor, and working on his Masters at University of TX. Ingrid is a juvenal counselor in St. Charles, and, is interested in
helping younger kids with B.D; thinking about future classes. I am a happy Mom and a happy teacher!

Mrs. Devine - Social Worker

This is my first year here at Landmark School,
and I am so excited to make it my home! (Well… one of my homes. I also get to work with the kids at Hilltop School.) I have worked as both
a school social worker and autism consultant for 7 years in Cook County and McHenry County. Although I have worked with kids of all ages, I am happy
to say that I am right where I belong, working with students K-5.
I was born in Cary, IL, and recently just moved back there from
Chicago. I live with my husband, Mike, and two daughters, Isabelle and Layla. We have two pets, our cat, Delila, and our dog, Roxy. Isabelle
just caught Bieber Fever, and I am hoping that it's not contagious! I used to sing in a band, but now I enjoy singing very loudly in the
car. My favorite outdoor activities include jumping waves on jet skis and riding my mopeds up in Green Lake, WI. My favorite author is Chuck
Palahniuk. My favorite color is emerald green. And my favorite TV show is The Office. I love what I do, and I am happy to spend my days with
such inspiring people, both kids and adults. I get the opportunity to both teach and learn every day!
