My name is Nick Atchley and this will be my first year as the Dean of Students. I am very excited to serve our
students here at Parkland in this new role. Parkland is a very student centered school and my goal is for each student to be able to learn and enjoy each day that they are here!
Until this year, I had the pleasure of spending 4 years as the Parkland band teacher which showed me what hard
working students we have here at Parkland! I was also able to teach 5th grade band for students at Valley View, Riverwood, and Landmark schools and prepare these students for a positive middle school experience. Before joining District 15, I spent 5 years teaching band, choir, and K-8 general music covering 8 different schools on the north side and suburbs of Chicago. Prior to teaching I attended the University of Missouri at Kansas City Conservatory of Music and since then I have earned a Masters Degree from VanderCook College of Music.
Communication is very important to me and I will always be available to answer your questions or talk about your
