Welcome to Parkland School!

Thank you for visiting the Parkland School web page. We have a great school with great students and a highly qualified staff dedicated to your children. I encourage you to visit the numerous other areas of the Parkland School web page to see the exciting things offered.

Parkland has approximately 800, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. We are one of two middle schools in the city of McHenry; the other being McHenry Middle School. We have two core teams per grade level. These teams are either the “White Team” or the “Blue Team”. Each is composed of a group of four core teachers teaching Math, Science, Social Science, and Language Arts. In addition, we have a Unified Arts Team which exposes the students to a variety of courses including Art, Technology, Foreign Language, Problem Based Learning, Music, Band, Chorus, Health, and Physical Education. Finally, Parkland offers an excellent Special Education program. Students have numerous opportunities to receive assistance with work at each grade level. I would highly encourage all students to participate in one of our clubs or sport programs.
