The McHenry Schools Transportation Department works in conjunction with school personnel and parents to provide a safe and efficient service.

The McHenry Schools Transportation Department provides transportation for students in the McHenry Elementary School District 15, McHenry High School District 156 and Montini Catholic School and Zion Lutheran School. Each day we transport more than 6,400 students to 18 different schools – including those schools outside the district for out-placed students. Our bus drivers travel over 84,000 miles each month.


Eligibility

Students eligible for transportation include:

• Students who live more than 1.5 miles from their school.
• Students who live in an area deemed hazardous by the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Pay Rider

• Students who live within 1.5 miles of their school may ride the bus for an annual fee.
