Principal's Message

  • August 5, 2020

    Dear Duker Families,

We hope you and your family are happy and healthy! While the start of this school year will be unlike any other we've experienced, please know that we are here for all our families during these trying times. We are working diligently to ensure that remote learning will be a positive and successful experience for our learners. We can't wait to reconnect virtually with all our Duker Dragons.

Each new year brings some positive changes, and we have some wonderful staff additions to the Duker Family. We are delighted to welcome the following staff members:

    Stephanie Lawrence, 4th grade

    Sarah Forbes, 5th grade

    Jon Schwalenberg, 5th grade

    Kevin Leor, 5th grade bilingual

    Sarah Nowak, Special Education

Kayla Ross, Speech Pathologist, shared with Edgebrook

    Johann Esquivel, Head Custodian

Please reach out and say hello when you get a chance!

In the coming weeks, you will be able to log into Skyward to see your student's classroom teacher. A great deal of time and effort has gone into the process of student placement. We carefully consider many factors when creating academically and socially balanced classrooms. Our class lists are structured to provide equitable class sizes at both grade levels. Moving students is difficult without causing imbalances and inequities. We ask that you please keep this in mind.

Thank you to all for your continued support of Duker School! It remains an honor and privilege to work with your family! Together, I know we will make this school year one of growth and achievement for all our students.

    Sincerely,

    Alison Kos
