Vacancy on McHenry School District 15 Board of Education
McHenry School District 15 has a vacancy for a school Board Member position following the resignation of Board Member Emily Jay effective July 19, 2024 due to inadvertently missing the required deadline to complete her Statement of Economic Interest form. The Board of Education expresses its gratitude for her dedicated service and commitment to McHenry District 15’s students, staff and community.
Applicant Requirements:
Any resident of the school district who is 18 years of age, a resident of Illinois and the District, and a registered voter may apply. The person appointed to fill the Board vacancy will serve until the next regular election (April 5, 2025). At that time the remainder of the original term (April 2025-April 2027) will be filled by election.
Application Process:
Residents interested in serving on the McHenry School District 15 Board of Education please submit an Electronic Application by August 19, 2024. The district plans to interview candidates at a Board Meeting during Closed Session on September 10, 2024 at the Administrative and Professional Development Center located at 420 N. Front St. at 7:00 PM or during a special meeting if necessary. Paper applications are available at McHenry School District 15’s Administrative and Professional Development Center, 420 N. Front St., McHenry.
The Board of Education has 60 days from the date of resignation to fill the vacancy as specified by Illinois School Code (105 ILCS 5/10-10).
