Happy Summer
Landmark is on summer break after another great year of learning and fun!
The end of our 2023/24 year was filled with fun-filled events, from a visit from our graduating seniors to our special school traditions, we definitely made wonderful memories with our school community! We all enjoyed our annual Field Day when our students competed in fun and silly games on the school grounds, including Tug of War to the Water Balloon Toss and Drip, Drip, Splash! The students enjoyed a frozen treat from our LCO (Landmark Community Organization) after our games followed by a Yearbook signing. That evening, we honored our outgoing Fifth Graders with a special dinner for the students and their families. Each fifth grader was recognized for their unique and special characteristics in front of an audience of their peers, family and staff. These special traditions are just a few of the ways Landmark ensures that learning is fun and that each student is recognized and valued.
We are gearing up for another amazing year of learning opportunities, creativity and teamwork in the 2024/25 school year! Our new Landmark students and families are invited to a New Student Night on the Playground, weather permitting, on Thursday, July 11th from 6:00 - 7:00pm. Come meet other new parents, Mrs. Carey and representatives from our parent group, the LCO! Supply Drop Off will be held on Tuesday, July 16th, from 3:00 - 5:00pm. Stop by the gym to sign up to volunteer with our LCO, then visit your child's classroom to meet the teacher and drop off school supplies. Make sure to stop by the Kona Ice Truck with your free coupon before you leave! Our first day of school will be Wednesday, July 17th!
If you are new to the community or haven't heard of Landmark, one of the first differences you'll note is that we have a continuous year calendar. We begin school each year in July and have frequent 2-3 week breaks. These frequent breaks keep our students refreshed and eager to learn all year long! All of our classes are either looping or multi-grade classrooms. We deeply value the connections and positive relationships that our teachers form with our students and their parents. Please see our Frequently Asked Questions page for more school information. Interested parents are encouraged to call the school office with questions as well.
Landmark is fortunate to have an active parent teacher group, our amazing LCO (Landmark Community Organization)! This group plans fun activities all year round, including the Boohoo/Yahoo Breakfast on July 17th and the annual Pool Party at Woodstock Water Works on August 3rd. Parents are encouraged to attend our monthly meetings to keep abreast of what this amazing group has planned and to bring new ideas to the table.
No matter the grade level, our teachers promote hands-on and group learning opportunities to bring learning alive for our students. Our teachers are experts at using interactive technology that enhances the lessons taught. Students enjoy the STEM curriculum and materials that provide numerous opportunities for students to explore and problem-solve in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math while also enhancing literacy skills.
Please follow our school's Facebook page, LMDolphins, and check the website regularly so that you can join us for the many activities and events here at Landmark! We currently have openings in Kindergarten for the 2024/25 school year. Please call the school office (779) 244-1800 for more information!
