The 2022/23 school year marks Landmark's 22nd year as a school-of-choice in McHenry District 15!   Welcome to all of our families, those returning and those brand new!  We are looking forward to a wonderful school year, a year that will be filled with active learning, community building, fun activities and opportunities to reach out and help our community.

I am honored and excited to be back and starting my thirteenth year as your principal! Landmark is a truly amazing community of learners! In my 30 years in education, I have never worked with a more dedicated, exceptional group of teachers nor with a more supportive parent community! All of our parents are invited and encouraged to join the LCO, the Landmark Community Organization, which is our version of a PTO. This active group supports our students and teachers in numerous ways, including planning social activities for families and some just for parents. Our meetings will be a combination of in-person and virtual meetings this year - watch for links in our weekly newsletter, The Dolphin Splash.

For those who are new to our school, Landmark is a school of choice in District 15. We have a continuous year calendar, which begins in July and includes frequent 2-3 week breaks; our school year begins on July 19 and ends on June 1. All of our classes are either looping or multigrade classrooms for the 2022/23 school year. We deeply value the connections and positive relationships that our teachers form with our students and their parents. Our continuous learning calendar can be found on our website.

As with other district schools, Landmark offers a full day kindergarten experience. Our kindergarten and first grade classrooms loop; our second and third grade classrooms also loop this year. Looping will transition up to our fourth and fifth grades by the 2023/24 school year, but currently those grade levels are together in a multi-grade classroom.  No matter the grade level, our teachers promote hands-on and group learning opportunities to bring learning alive for our students. Our teachers are also experts at using interactive technology that enhances the lessons taught. Students enjoy the STEM curriculum and materials that provide numerous opportunities for students to explore and problem-solve in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math while also enhancing literacy skills.

Please follow our school's Facebook page, LMDolphins, and check the website regularly so that you can join us for the many activities and events here at Landmark!

We currently have one opening each in second and fifth grades. Please call the school office (779) 244-1800 for more information!
