Happy 2024!
Landmark is enjoying another wonderful year of engaged learning!
Winter is always full of new learning opportunities and fun activities at Landmark! Our primary students loved their 100th Day activities in late January, which were followed closely by watching to see if the groundhog saw his shadow. Our older students are enjoying our optional winter Book Clubs for our 2nd, 3rd and 4/5 students, which provide a fun opportunity to read the same book during recess with their peers. We are all engaged in celebrating Black History Month by learning about famous black Americans who made a positive difference in our country.
February is the time when Landmark opens up our annual lottery to admit new students for the upcoming school year. Our home page includes a link to an informational packet that includes the Google Form that can be used to enter the lottery for the 2024/25 school year. If you are new to the community or haven't heard of Landmark, one of the first differences you'll note is that we have a continuous year calendar. We begin school in July and have frequent 2-3 week breaks. Our next break, or intersession, will be our 2-week spring intersession. All of our classes are either looping or multi-grade classrooms. We deeply value the connections and positive relationships that our teachers form with our students and their parents. Please see our Frequently Asked Questions page for more school information. Interested parents are encouraged to call the school office with questions as well.
Landmark is fortunate to have an active parent teacher group, our amazing LCO (Landmark Community Organization)! This group has several more fun activities planned for the year, including the parent-only Trivia Night, Intersession Activities and more! Parents are encouraged to attend our monthly meetings to keep abreast of what this amazing group has planned.
No matter the grade level, our teachers promote hands-on and group learning opportunities to bring learning alive for our students. Our teachers are experts at using interactive technology that enhances the lessons taught. Students enjoy the STEM curriculum and materials that provide numerous opportunities for students to explore and problem-solve in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math while also enhancing literacy skills.
Please follow our school's Facebook page, LMDolphins, and check the website regularly so that you can join us for the many activities and events here at Landmark! We currently have openings in first and fifth grade for the 23/24 school year, and we are accepting lottery forms for the 2024/25 school year. Please call the school office (779) 244-1800 for more information!
