The foundation has been in existence since 1992 and aims to promote the value of education. The foundation acquires and distributes resources needed to enhance District 15 education programs and projects by providing enriched educational opportunities for learners. They offer many different events that benefit students and allow them to acquire these resources. For more information regarding the foundation or their upcoming events click here

The McHenry Elementary Education Foundation holds several different events throughout the year including a Run/Walk-a-thon, Art Show, and Chili Cook-Off. Please see pictures from these successful events below.

  • BPAC

The purpose of the Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee is to prepare all of our students to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing, technology oriented, and diverse society. We want to ensure that linguistically diverse students have equal status and access to quality education. We will continually strive for excellence in all aspects of the education process and teach our students to understand and appreciate human and cultural diversity. We will use the resources of the entire community, including students, parents, teachers, staff, administrators, and business leaders. We will encourage students to be lifelong learners, to demonstrate high achievement, and to develop the skills and characteristics needed to enjoy happy and successful lives.

    Character Counts

The McHenry Area CHARACTER COUNTS! Coalition was formed to establish an environment where all individuals personally embrace the principle that character does count, at all times and in all places.

    • TRUSTWORTHINESS: To be honest, not to deceive cheat or steal, to be reliable, to do what you say you'll do; to have the courage to do the right thing, to build a good reputation, to be loyal, to stand by your family, friends, and community.
    • RESPECT: To treat others with respect; to follow the Golden Rule, to be tolerant of differences, to use good manners, not bad language; to be considerate of the feelings of others, not to threaten, hit or hurt anyone; and to deal peacefully with anger, insults, and disagreements.
    • RESPONSIBILITY: To do what you are supposed to do to persevere: keep on trying, to always do your best, to use self-control, to be self-disciplined, to think before you act, consider the consequences and to be accountable for your choices.
    • FAIRNESS: To play by the rules, to take turns and share, to be open-minded, to listen to others, not to take advantage of others, and not to blame others carelessly.
    • CARING: To be kind, to be compassionate, and show that you care, to express gratitude, to forgive others, and help people in need.
    • CITIZENSHIP: To do your share to make your school and community better, to cooperate, to stay informed, to vote, to be a good neighbor, to obey laws and rules, to respect authority, and to protect the environment.

    Senior Exchange Program

Senior Exchange is a program which allows residents age 62 and over who live in our school district, to share their experience, expertise, and talents with students and staff. As an incentive McHenry School District 15 will reimburse the seniors for their time. The mutual goals of providing services to the children and allowing seniors to share their knowledge and experiences are enhanced by providing seniors with property tax relief. For more information about the program and how to participate click here
