Hi, I am so excited to be your child's first grade teacher this year.  I have been teaching first grade for 23 years at Hilltop. I love seeing all the growth that my students make from the beginning of the year to the end of the school year.

My name is Sandi Groves and I began my teaching career in 1987.  I graduated from National Louis University with a degree in Elementary Education and earned a Master's Degree in Reading from St. Xavier. I've been at Hilltop since 2004. I live in McHenry with my husband and we have two adult sons and a wonderful daughter-in-law. I love reading, swimming, hiking, volunteering at Helping Paws..and of course, teaching first grade! 

Hi there! My name is Tasia Alexakos and I am a first grade teacher here at Hilltop. This is my fifth year in the district and my first year in first grade. I previously taught pre-k for a few years. I am excited to join the Hilltop family!

Hello. My name is Sofia Mantzoukis and this is my 25th year in teaching. My heritage is Greek and I speak and teach 3 languages (Spanish, Greek and English). I graduated with Honors from Northeastern Illinois University with a Masters in Bilingual/Bicultural Education.  I am certified to teach in a variety of settings and programs, but my absolute passion is teaching in a Dual language program. I am a proud mom of 3 kiddos (17,9, & 6 years of age) and I love traveling, swimming, gardening and spending time with my family.
