Notes from the Nurse

  • Hilltop Families,

March is coming in like a lamb!!!  And Hilltop Kindergartners were very privileged to have the Health Dept. come to visit on Feb 27th sharing the importance of hand washing, respiratory etiquette  and how to keep germ free!

    Friendly Reminders

    • Centegra will be visiting Kindergarten classrooms on March 22nd.  They will be presenting their Poison Prevention Program. This is a very popular program to help children understand why to ask first before ingestion! Your student will receive a folder outlining the program the day of the presentation.
    • St Baldrick's fundraising will continue with hair extensions offered by Hair Ink here at Hilltop on March 7th for ONE TIME ONLY to sell green hair extensions.  Permission slips went home with the students March 1st.  Money and a signed permission slip is required on March 7th.  All monies raised stay local to help families battling childhood cancer.
    • All 2nd grade students are required by the State of Illinois to have an updated dental exam on file in the health office. Our fax number is 815-363-5027.

    Tip of the Month

As our weather continues to fluctuate, students must have proper outerwear for outdoor recess: jacket, gym shoes, hat, gloves (if needed).  It’s always a good idea to have an extra set of pants and underwear here at school in case clothes get wet/muddy with our spring showers.

Last but not least, remember that Daylight Savings Time begins on March 11th!  So be sure to “spring” your clocks forward one hour.

    Thank you!
