Ms. Nowak

Hello Duker family!! My name is Sarah Nowak. This is my first year teaching and I am very excited to start my career here with all you Duker Dragons in the Special Education Bilingual class. While I have not been a classroom teacher I have spent time in education working as a Homebound Liaison. I received my Bachelor's degree in Speech Communication from Eastern Illinois University, my Masters of Education from DePaul university and my LBS1 from University of Illinois Springfield.

Along with my love for education I have found a passion for helping students find their voice through coaching the Speech Team at Cary-Grove High School. I hope to continue pursuing that passion while discovering new ones here at Duker.
When not at school my two sons, husband and I are quite involved in scouting and you can find us taking many camping trips and hiking all over the state. I also love playing board games with friends and family along with reading and watching a good movie.
I can't wait to discover all the great adventures we are going to have this year!!!

Miss Carbajal

This is my sixth year at Duker as the 4th grade Bilingual teacher. I received my undergraduate from Northeastern Illinois University and my Masters from North Park University. Becoming a teacher has been the best decision made thus far in my life. I get to share a treasure with my students that many people do not have – two worlds of languages and cultures. When I am not at school, my life revolves around my daughter, family, and friends.
