Mrs. Crenshaw
Hi, my name is Melany Crenshaw and I am the current art teacher at Duker and Landmark schools. I am a graduate of Texas State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art and Education. My teaching career began in central Texas where I taught art at Ralph Pfluger Elementary. I moved to Schaumburg, Illinois in 2017 where I currently live with my family.
For fun, I enjoy making all types of art but my favorite is sculpting with clay and painting with watercolor. I also enjoy playing my Ukulele and being outdoors with my family and 3 dogs. My role as an Art Teacher is to create a learning environment that is safe for exploring and encouraging risks. I will help students develop skills in art production, criticism, history, and aesthetics. My success as an educator is measured by the ability to maintain a classroom that addresses the needs of all learners while building relationships with students, educators, parents, and community members
