Welcome to McHenry Middle School! My name is Mike Glover and I am beginning my sixteenth year working with the students, families, faculty, and staff at McHenry Middle School. I began my educational leadership career in McHenry as the assistant principal for three years and am beginning my thirteenth year as principal. I appreciate the opportunity to help lead our school and have a strong sense of responsibility to ensure that our students are receiving quality instruction every day. McHenry Middle School is a great place to learn and grow! Our building is an excellent environment for learning and a great place for students to participate in activities. We will challenge them academically, see them grow socially and emotionally, and support them in the many activities we offer. As principal, I will continue my commitment to supporting our students as they work to become their best every day. I am confident that if a student is engaged and involved in all the programs we offer they will be successful and prepared for high school.
It’s a Great Day to be an MMS Trojan!

Hello and Welcome!! I am thrilled to begin my ninth year as an Assistant Principal at McHenry Middle School! We have an amazing staff, dedicated to the needs of each student, and continually working to guide each student down their individual path to success.
Prior to coming to MMS, I spent most of my life in the boundaries of Woodstock District 200. I attended D200 schools from kindergarten through twelfth grade, taught math for seven years at Woodstock High School, and was the Student Services Facilitator at Creekside Middle School for two years.
After graduating from Woodstock High School in 2002, I attended Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan, earning my Bachelors of Science Degree in Mathematics with Secondary Teaching Certification in April, 2006. I began teaching in the WHS Mathematics Department in August of the same year. I earned a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership from Aurora University in 2011. At home, I am supported by my husband, Joel, and two children, Javey and Calev.
I feel privileged to have the opportunity to work with the students and families in McHenry District #15. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to stop in, email, or call me.
Go Trojans!!

Hi, and welcome to McHenry Middle School! I am incredibly excited about joining the team as this is my first year at MMS! I look forward to working with our wonderful students, families, and staff so that we can learn together and thrive utilizing a growth mindset. I believe that we as educators and learners should focus on fostering both emotional and academic growth to support our students on their individual journeys.
Before MMS, I was Assistant Principal at Garfield Elementary in Elgin. Prior to that, I taught middle school language arts and math for 3 years in Louisville, Kentucky and for 3 years in Fremont School District 79 (Mundelein). It was at Fremont that I coached boys’ and girls’ basketball and ran the newspaper club. At North Oldham Middle School, I served our students and staff as math department chair. My first two years in education were at Conyers Learning Academy in Rolling Meadows as a program assistant.
I attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, earning my B.S. in news-editorial journalism in 2009, and it was after 4 years at the Chicago Tribune I developed a strong desire to work in education. My wife Samantha inspired me to do so as she has served countless children and teachers in special education. I went on to earn my Masters of Education from DePaul in 2016 and my principal endorsement from the University of the Cumberlands in 2021.
I am honored and privileged to have this opportunity to serve in McHenry District #15. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out. I look forward to our journey together; go Trojans!
