Mrs. Chanthasene

Hello everyone! My name is Mrs. Chanthasene (pronounced Chan-tuh-seen) and I am the 6th grade math teacher on the Red Team. I have been in education since 2007. I received my Bachelor of Science from Northeastern Illinois University, majoring in Elementary Education and a minor in mathematics. Soon after my first year in education, I pursued and received my graduate degree from Concordia University in Educational Leadership. I've always been so curious about math, looking for connections and relevance; this is my goal for my students who enter our math class. I hope that math comes to life during their time with me, in our math classroom. When I'm not teaching, you can find me hiking, camping, or traveling with my husband, son and daughter. We live to eat and explore, and are always open to suggestions on where to find the next best view or meal!

Mrs. Keblusek

Welcome to my Language Arts classroom! I am so excited about starting a new school year with all of you! It is hard to believe that this will be my 20th year teaching middle school language arts; my 16th year here at MMS. Before teaching, I worked as a freelance writer and editor for various trade journals while raising my three children. When my youngest started First Grade, I decided to go back to school and earn a Masters Degree in Secondary Education--the rest is history! My children are now grown, and are living in Minnesota and Wisconsin. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy scorekeeping at our sporting events here at MMS, and reading novels with our 6th grade Reading Club members. Outside of school, I devote my time to my two awesome grandsons, Greyson and Wyatt, and two very energetic dogs, Penny Lane and Eleanor Rigby!

Mrs. O'Brien

I teach social studies at McHenry Middle School. I love teaching about the ancient civilizations, it's filled with so many "stories" and amazing people! I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Northern Illinois University. My Masters in Teaching and Leadership was completed at St. Xavier University. I enjoy reading (especially historical fiction), gardening, and finding great restaurants with my family. I must admit, I am obsessed with playing the game, Words with Friends. Spending time with my husband, family, and our crazy dog Mia are my favorite ways to relax. I know we will have another great year here at MMS!
