Enrollment and Screening Information
McHenry District 15 Preschool Program does not have open registration.
All students that attend and/or receive services through our program have been developmentally screened and/or evaluated and have qualified to attend the McHenry District 15 Preschool Program and/or receive services.
McHenry District 15 Preschool Program conducts developmental screening for children ages 3-5 years old. The purpose of the screening process is to:
- Identify students that are considered at-risk and would benefit from attending our early childhood/preschool program.
- Identify students that may need an evaluation for special education services.
Screenings are on-going throughout the school year. We do not conduct a kindergarten screening.
Step 1: Complete the online request questionnaire Click Here (or click the link below). If you are unable to complete the online request questionnaire, you can contact Angie Curry at 779-244-1000. It is preferred that families complete the online survey if possible. Within two weeks you will receive a packet of information to be completed and returned to McHenry District 15. At times, due to the high volume of screening requests, it may take up to 2 weeks to receive the packet of information in the mail. Thank you for your understanding.
Packets requested during the months of May and June will be mailed out mid-July.
Step 2: Upon receipt of your completed packet, the preschool screening team will review the information and you will be notified within 2 weeks, either in writing or by a member of our staff, to let you know our finding and/or the next step in the process. During the summer months of June, July, and August the Pre-school staff does not work so packets will be reviewed when the staff returns in mid-August.
NOTE: Once a student qualifies, he/she can start the preschool program pending the registration process. Not all students will begin the first day of school in August. We enroll students all throughout the school year. Students do not have to be potty trained to attend our program.
For concerns regarding children under 34-months of age, please contact Child & Family Connections for a developmental screening/assessment at 815-477-4720.
