7th and 8th Grade Conference Volleyball
Girls must try out for the 7th and 8th grade teams, which will consist of approximately 15 girls each. Girls interested in trying out are expected to attend both tryout dates. Members of the team are expected to attend practice every day after school.
**Students who make the conference team may not participate in practice/games until they have a current physical on file with the school nurse. The athletic fee for those who make the team is $100.
The coaches strive to allow all participants to have the opportunity to improve their skills and participate in games. During the season, the teams compete against all the schools in the Fox Valley Conference. On game days there will be two matches played at each grade level against the opposing school. Games are scored by a rally-point system, which means that a point can be earned at any time in the game, no matter who served the ball. Whoever reaches 25 points first, by a margin of at least two points, wins the game. The first team to win two games wins the match. If a team wins the first two games, the final game is only played to 15 (margin also by 2 points). There is also a one-day FVC tournament for 7th and 8th grades.
