Mr. Birmantas

Department: Speech, Language, and Communication Therapy

Mr. Birmantas began working at Parkland in 2019. He earned his Master of Arts in Speech & Language Pathology from Northern Illinois University. Mr. Birmantas enjoys working with the kids - the kids are so funny, they know how to make learning fun, and they tell the funniest stories and jokes!

Ms. Herbert

Ms. Herbert began her career at Parkland over 20 years ago as a teacher and has stepped into the social work role in 2018. Ms. Herbert received her Bachelor's degree in Regular Education and Special Education from Carthage College and Northern Illinois University. She later earned her Master's in Social Work degree from Aurora University.

Mr. Karr

Department: Social Worker

 

Mr. Karr began his role as SES social worker at Parkland in 2022. He earned his Bachelor of Social Work degree from Western Illinois University. He then acquired his Master of Social Work degree from Aurora University. Before Parkland, Mr. Karr worked as an outpatient therapist, and as an intensive in-home therapist/crisis responder. Mr. Karr enjoys all of the different programs, clubs, and opportunities Parkland has to offer the students.

Mr. Kassel

Department: Social Worker

 

Mr. Kassel has been a social worker at Parkland since 2020. He earned his Bachelor of Social Work degree from Western Michigan University. He then acquired his Master's of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago: Jane Addams College of Social Work. Mr. Kassel enjoys working with the students at Parkland and enjoys watching students develop and grow as they prepare for high school.

Ms. Lary

Department: Occupational Therapy

Ms. Lary graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago and has been a practicing Occupational Therapist for 29 years in various settings, including in outpatient adult rehabilitation, hospitals, home health, and schools throughout DuPage, Lake, and McHenry Counties. Currently, she is the lead OT for District 15. She works with students in self-contained and general education classrooms at Duker, Parkland, and McHenry Middle schools, supporting 3rd-8th grade students with IEP/504s. In addition, she collaborates with teachers and staff on the effectiveness of common accommodations that could be implemented to benefit all students.

Mrs. Reinert

Department: Social Worker

 

Mrs. Reinert has been a social worker at Parkland since 2020. She has earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Aurora University. Mrs. Reinert enjoys working at parkland because she genuinely wants to help students. Her goal is to help students be successful, not only in their academics, but also in their emotional and mental health.

Ms. Wolf

Department: Psychologist

 

Ms. Wolf has been the school psychologist at Parkland since 1996; she originally was employed at SEDOM. In 2011, Parkland hired Ms. Wolf full-time. Ms. Wolf earned her Bachelor's degree in psychology from Loyola Chicago in 1991. Ms. Wolf then earned her MEd from Loyola in 1996, and she also received her Master's degree in Administration from Aurora University in 2008. Ms. Wolf loves to create relationships with kids and see them grow and progress in the middle school setting; academically and socially-emotionally.
