McHenry School District 15 offers a comprehensive employee benefits package. Following is a summary
Medical Insurance
We currently offer a Blue Cross Blue Shield medical insurance plan to full time employees. The Board of Education contributes a flat monthly amount per employee to go towards the cost of their chosen plan. Employee costs will be payroll deducted. Coverage is also available for employee spouses and dependents.Dental Insurance
We currently offer Delta dental insurance. Coverage is optional for eligible employees, as well as spouses and dependents. Preventative services are covered at 100%. Basic procedures are covered at 80% and major procedures are covered at 50%. There is a $50 annual deductible for single insurance and $100 annual deductible for family. Orthodontics is also covered when a family plan is chosen for dependents 18 and under.Vision Insurance
We currently offer four levels of vision insurance through VSP. All employees are covered for vision as it’s a board contribution. The vision plan covers eye exams, glasses, and contacts.Life Insurance
We currently offer basic group life and accidental death insurance as well as optional life and dependent life insurance coverage (optional) through Standard Life. Basic coverage is worth $15,000. Optional coverage can be purchased in additional $10,000 increments up to $500,000.Long Term Disability
Our Long Term Disability insurance plan is optional for eligible employees and is offered through Standard Insurance. This plan provides loss of income protection due to long term illness and/or accident.Flexible Spending Accounts
Flexible Spending Accounts are optional for eligible employees to take advantage of pre-tax dollars to pay for medical expenses (that have not already been reimbursed) or dependent daycare. Money can be deposited into the employee's FSA through payroll deduction.Paid Time Off
Certified and Classified employees are eligible for sick time and personal days during the school year. Full time employees who work year-round are eligible for sick days, personal days, and accrued vacation time, with the potential to increase vacation days with years of service. Sick days accumulate from year to year. Unused personal days roll to sick time.Tuition Reimbursement
Most employee groups are eligible to receive reimbursement for a portion of the tuition cost of pre-approved coursework that relates to their current assignment. Completed coursework for certified staff also has the potential of increasing salary.Retirement
Certified staff is enrolled in the Teachers' Retirement System (TRS) of Illinois, which provides retirement annuities, disability, and death benefits. Non-certified staff, working a minimum of 600 hours are enrolled in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF), which provides retirement benefits. Employees can also choose to contribute to a 403(b) or a Roth 403(b) retirement annuity through payroll deductions.
