Purposeful Play

Purposeful Play enhances school readiness by addressing children’s social, emotional, physical and academic needs. Additionally, through play, children are able to explore interests, develop and strengthen vocabulary, enhance communication, problem-solving, and social skills. Many of the activities involved in the purposeful play model are aligned to the Illinois Learning Standards and Illinois Social Emotional Learning Standards. Purposeful Play occurs daily for 30 minutes in all McHenry District 15 classrooms.
